KNOW WHAT TYPE OF INVESTOR ARE YOU?
Is investing is fun?
Well, the answer may vary person to person. As it completely depends on who you are and what type of an investor you are. Yes – with no doubt, investing and financial planning is a field of study with rules and theories; investors are beings with their own nuances, stage of life quirks and fondness to finance and investing.
Here are a few types of Investors –
MR. FIXED RETURNS
If it’s not fixed return then, it’s not worth it – is the motto of this personality. Assurance of returns is most important here. The very thought of market volatility is terrifying is not their cup of tea.
MR. MUMMA’S BOY
The Indian parents’ need to manage their child till his/her old age gives rise to this category. For many of us, at least our first investment is done on dad’s recommendation. For them, blissful sleep and remaining carefree is “the strategy”.
MADAM PERFECTIONIST
She knows her stuff to perfection or if she doesn’t, she learns it. Be it the “masalas” in her kitchen or the clothes in her wardrobe, be it an important due date – the bills, EMIs, insurance premiums, or SIP dates – she never miss on it. She is a pro
MR. TIP MAN
His investments are made on tips – best deposits, best stock to buy, best mutual fund schemes etc. He can also be named as Mr. Get-Rich-On-Tips.
MR. PLANNED
He has it all planned out. He is not an expert but ensures that he makes the right choice. Mr Planned in that sense is the monk by default. He has well-planned his finances for every stage of life. He sleeps peacefully in the knowledge that his financial planning will secure all that he cares and loves.
MR. PROTECTION
Fear drives Mr Protection. For him, there is no differentiation between insurance and investment. Like Mr. Fixed Returns, he finds market volatility terrifying. Hence, insurance is all that he seeks.
MR. GO WITH THE FLOW
Unfortunately, today this is a growing breed where EMIs and unwanted desires are more important than investing for future needs.
MR. GOLD
Gold is the traditional investment that’s travelling since generations. Indians including Mr Gold, finds hard to think beyond.
MR. REAL-ESTATE
After Gold, real estate is another hot favourite for Indians to park their money. Mr. Real Estate lives by the motto that money can be made only by buying property.
Investment is fun as long as you are investing in a disciplined and diversified manner with right guidance.
